Seems like I have to make statement from the beginning although I thought it is too obvious to say that. And it really makes me feel discouraged from sharing any kind of art tips.

This is GENERAL guide of GENERAL rules.

I can't possibly fit every shape here in this short guide. This is part of a series of art guides for beginners that need to first of all understand some rules and so then we can move to break the rules.

I don't have a luxury to make a book and put all my knowledge in one sitting, in one place so I can cover all exceptions and variety in human body. Yes, I am aware how much different body types there are.

It doesn't represent EVERY body that there is.

This guide is for purpose of designing believable human figure. It should be obvious for every artist out there.

If there wouldn't be any art rules to create then I wouldn't be even needed here to teach people. Or any other teacher wouldn't be needed. We would just say 'Do whatever'. But that isn't what is written in books if you look at Loomis, Hogarth, Bridgman. They have some rules and I extract what works for me and present that in digestible form.
